This is just my two cents.
I've noticed A LOT of female smokers go for 120s menthol cigarettes that are geared toward women. (I'm sure you know all the brands). These include:
*Virginia Slims Menthol 120s
*Misty Slims Menthol 120s
*Capri Menthol 120s (which are all only available in super slim sizes
as far as I know... "There is no slimmer way to smoke" LOL)
*Eve Menthol 120s
*And, occasionally, I'll hear about women who are committed More
Menthol 120s smokers--though, from what I understand, they can
be difficult to find these days. - 11-15-2016 03:13 AM - permalinkrisingbull84(original post continued 1.)
Each of these brands come in light and ultralight varieties (except for More 120s, which, I believe are only available in full-flavor or lights). And I know a few also come in super slims as well, which don’t seem to emit as much smoke as regular, full-flavored cigarettes. - 11-15-2016 03:08 AM - permalinkrisingbull84(original post continued 2.)
I’ve bummed a Virginia Slim here and there from female friends over the years--i.e., during times I’ve run out of my normal brand (I usually smoke Marlboro Menthol lights, Regulars or 100s). Personally I can’t stand them--but that’s just me (especially as a male smoker). The few times I've tried them, they’ve always been very mild and weak, and fail to satisfy--to me it’s like sucking air--but I think every time I have they were lights or ultralights, so. Plus I think, once a person gets used to them they are more prone to taking them up permanently. Everyone I know who smokes 120s though say that they provide an over-all major satisfaction since they make up for the lack of tar and nicotine in light of their length, and also, naturally they take much longer to smoke. - 11-15-2016 02:59 AM - permalinkrisingbull84(original post continued 3.)
But if your daughter is interested in a “weaker”, milder cigarette to start off with, I’d recommend any of those brands (I'm assuming that, by "milder" you are referring to "strength"). Another factor in them being milder has to do with the longer filters I think.
Anyway, I know a lot of girls who swear by them. And if she later finds herself wanting to try something a bit stronger, but that is still relatively mild, some of these also come in regular, full-flavored varieties (such as Virginia slims); I think most of them are also available in 100 millimeter sizes as well.
You might specifically consult “Jackie”--who’s certainly not a novice. She’s seriously an expert on the subject and always provides some valuable insight.
Hope this helps.
Good luck to you and your daughter!
~Jonathan
