Hope you're doing ok 'Mask!' How are your knees holding up? I've thought about you many times hoping that you've been able to find some relief! I'm sorry I've been offline for a week or two - been extremely busy trying to get yard work and other household chores accomplished!

I posted something today that I certainly hope isn't 'out of line' and 'out of bounds' regarding one of the posts you added in the message thread about 'feeling smoke entering your lungs the first time!' I could relate to so much you wrote about being a teenage and smoking - once again, its good to be in good company like yourself!

What the heck? That's robbery! Sorry to hear this Mask. Its situations like yours that really make no sense when it comes to extremely high insurance premiums with very few REAL benefits! Prescription medications and drugs are the same.

I know in my case, I lost my company sponsored insurance when I was unable to work and put on short/long term disability - the only way to be covered by insurance was through COBRA, which ended up costing me close to $1100 bucks a month! To me, that was outrageous considering the coverage I was receiving. The only real benefit I received during that time was a pair of brand new knees (but ended up having to retire because I wasn't able to use the 'new ones' as my company required)!

    Part 2
Thanks for the best wishes on my retirement! I really didn't plan to retire so abruptly as I've been working at my job for over 32 years but I just couldn't perform the duties and responsibilities my company expected me to do with my knees in the condition they're at - there was lots of bending, kneeling, squatting, stooping, etc. that my 'new' knees could handle. So I put in the paperwork and the rest is pretty much history. I really don't miss all the physical aspects of the job and its nice to be able to receive a pension in addition to my social security - my 'grubby little hands' do enjoy that! (ha ha!). Its enough to get by and to purchase a few cartons of B&H Menthol 100s!

I apologize for not writing sooner - I've been trying to compose some thoughts and such regarding several of your posts and I'm finally gonna post them today!

Thanks again Masklofumanto! Its nice to be in company like yours!

I was really hoping for the best for you - isn't it always the 'case' when it comes to insurance? I'll still keep my hopes up for you that you're able to get your hands (and your knees) on that gel injection prescription! I'm sure once you get them, you'll finally find some relief from the pain you've been experiencing!

I sure hope that your orthopedic doctor comes through for you SOON. Having gone through the agony of constant knee pain for a couple of years, I'm sure you'll be able to find some relief with the gel injections. The injections I got seemed to help me for a while - Hang in there my friend. I'll keep my fingers crossed for ya.

How are things going 'Mask?' Happy Memorial Day - Hope you're doing well! I've been kinda delinquent, not frequently the forum lately. I finally realized that my knees weren't going to get any better and therefore decided to retire from my company about 6 weeks ago. I've been so swamped and busy getting all of my finances and such stabilized that I have had much time to enjoy reading (and responding) on the forums. Thanks for your help a couple of months ago with my 'disappearing posts/comments.' I think I'll take your advice and write my comments in a word document and copy/paste them. That way, they won't get lost.

Hope you're doing ok with your knee situation. I feel for ya man! I know what you're going thru and the challenges you face! Take care and smoke on! Great being back in touch with you!
