Default Weekend Smoker

I started smoking again after having quit for 20+ years this past summer. To my surprise I have been able to keep my smoking to just the weekends. And not necessarily every weekend. It has been 3 weeks since my last cigarette.

I have to say I知 glad I started smoking again. I always enjoyed smoking, so it was hard for me to give it up for 20 years. I know I知 preaching to the choir here, but smoking is such a sensual experience. The smell of tobacco smoke is wonderful. The taste is an acquired taste, I admit, but once acquired, it is one of the best flavors!

But the best sensation of all is the feel of inhaling smoke. It is impossible to describe, but nothing else in life can reproduce that feeling. I知 so looking forward to my weekend cigarettes!

I started smoking as a result of parties I attended. At the time, the beginning and early years, I wasn't a fulltime smoke yet, but whenever I attended a party, I'd smoke a cigarette or two, and from there the addiction grew.

I've tried quitting countless occasions over the years, all leading to zero success.

I知 sure you realize how easy it is to go from an occasional weekend smoking into a full blown addiction. This is what frequently happens with social smokers. I used to work with a lady who took up smoking with the intention of remaining a social smoker. She was in her mid twenties. This worked for about three months until the nicotine took hold, and after a year of smoking, she became a pack a day smoker. Addiction took her by surprise. It痴 easy to start and near impossible to quit.

If that happens, then I知 totally fine with it. I like smoking and don稚 want to spend the rest of my life avoiding it.

This is completely true. I still am glad to be a smoker, and how nice it is to smoke.

Maybe that's why being around fellow smokers is so nice....we all know why we smoke.

The social component of smoking is great fun. It痴 a common bond that smokers understand and enjoy together.
