Luckily, around half of the people in my office smoke. There is a balcony and it's perfectly ok to have a cigarette every hour or so. Obviously, we also do a lot of overtime etc. Actually, quite a few joiners who maybe before casually smoked a cigarette allowed themselves to become true smokers.

I usually smoke 2 on each break. 3 during lunch and try to sneak out a few times during my shift if it's not busy. I also smoke at least 5 from the time I wake up to the start of my shift.

I haven't smoked at work since 2003 and I was with a different company then.Today I work in an office where smoking is not allowed but there's plenty of people who smoke outside so I could if I wanted to but then I'd be smoking way too much. I only smoke in my car on the way to work and then again on my way home.On breaks and lunch periods I do not smoke at all.I've disciplined myself to not smoke during work hours.

I also have to step out to have a smoke. There is a smoking section a couple dozen feets away from the building entrance but usually I combine it with a short walk around the block.

By the way, that's probably a stupid question, but lately I started sweating a lot after smoking a cigarette. Is that a normal reaction? I haven't experienced that yet, at least not in that intense.

I work in an office with a smoking patio behind the building. It is usually the same folks out there with me and I will gladly share with someone in need. Because I smoke Virginia Slims 120s, I have almost never been asked by a guy. I am old enough to remember when you could smoke in an office.
When I got my first office job while I was in college, the desk I was assigned had an ashtray on. I settled in and lit up. Most of the people in my department smoked so it was no big deal.

Of course I have to step outside if I want to smoke. Luckily my manager also smokes and takes frequent smoke breaks so I donít feel guilty when I go goutside for a much needed cigarette

No smoking at the office for me. Can’t get caught. Not exactly a career builder.

I am 57 and at my first job, we were able to smoke inside. I remember when there were very few places where you couldnít smoke. People smoked in stores, restaurants, teachers smoked in the teachers lounge, and just about anywhere else. Here in Michigan, I think the only places you can smoke now is casinos, cigar bars, and private residences.

Great to have others to enjoy it with, and it sounds as though the joiners got to realise they were missing out on something pretty good!

My high school had a smoking area....my kids had a smoking area when they were in HS....all that is gone now.

At work we have a smoking area.....we fellow smokers have a good time when we meet.
