Smoking doctor here. Started smoking in 9th grade over 20 years ago and as a fully addicted pack a day smoker don’t plan on quitting any time soon.

Great to read! Any regrets in starting and what do you enjoy most about it? Do you feel any ill effects from it/think it is as bad as we are told?

I’m a doctor and I smoke. Inhaled one drag when I was 12, smoked infrequently end of high school, became a daily smoker in college now at about a pack a day. Thoroughly addicted as well. I’m glad I’m a smoker and have no intention to quit any time soon.

Well I am not a Doctor, wish I was smart enough to be one...LOL!!! But my 23 year old nephew is in med school and he is a smoker, has been since he was 13. He kinda gets shunned for being a smoker in med school, but he doesn't give a damn. He enjoys it and says he will continue to smoke.

My gynecologist is a smoker, I'm sorry that I only see her once, sometimes twice a year. Like me, she is a non-repentant smoker.

My sister-in-law and niece are both nurses and have both been heavy smokers since their teens. My niece says that probably a third of the nurses at the hospital she works at (in West Virginia) are smokers.

We have a hospital here that will not employ anyone who uses tobacco or nicotine in any form. They are regularly tested just like I was in the military for drugs.

I know a lot of nurses that smoke all varying amounts. What's amazing is that some of them treat people with COPD and yet continue to smoke

I’d say that most likely they will. At least some of them. Medicine advances at a rapid pace.
