I know that there are a number of dental assistants and doctor's assistants that smoke, but the dentist/doctor doesn't and it's not really a big deal, but the one time that I went to minor emergency a couple of years ago when I broke my foot and I was going through the initial examination, the assistant took my vitals and when he was finished, he asked me, are you a Camel or a Marlboro smoker and despite the pain, I smiled and said Marlboro and he was a Camel smoker.

At least I knew I was good hands with a fellow smoker, despite the pain of my foot.

2 of the assistants in her office are smokers, and another hygienist is a social smoker, so my wife does have some company at lunch.

Yes my doc smokes. He is over 70, smokes Parliaments.

A legal drug dealer here - a PharmD in the ICU. Many doctors and nurses I work with smoke, it's a stressful job and environment, and just cause someone has a certain profession doesn't mean they don't indulge in life's little pleasures. A lot of cannabis users by he way who are doctors. Not me, but a lot of physicians do.

I wish I could say the same about my dentist, though she blames my tea drinking more than my smoking. On the flip side, no dentist has ever done as thorough a job at cleaning my teeth as this one. And she has suggested ways of retarding the staining -- using a water flosser, and Rembrant Intense Stain toothpaste.

That's something I really didn't want to know. My level of distrust of some physicians has just reached a new high (pun unintended).
