Not counting while you are smoking a cigarette, how much of your thoughts are occupied by smoking. I.e. thinking about your next smoke, thinking about buying cigarettes, mentally counting how many you have left, wishing you could have a smoke.
Comment with how you voted.

I voted constantly.

I wouldn't say constantly, since there are moments that I can be occupied with other things especially during work. But smoking is on my mind for the better part of the day. From the moment I wake up and light my first one - till I go to sleep knowing that I get to wake up and do it all over again in the morning.

Pretty much all the time for me. And when I am home if I want a smoke I have a smoke. I put no limits on my nicotine intake. I love smoking and have since I was 12.

Nothing is constant, but it is pretty damn close! Clearly there is an obsessive component there but I’ve long since realized I could deny that or embrace it. I chose the latter.

I see the first two are dominating this poll. Of course smokers who find their way to a board like this are likely to answer that way. So here's my question....and we can only guess at this. How do you think smokers in general would answer this poll?...the millions and millions of smokers who do not read smoking boards. I would like to think the results would be similar...that would be exciting to me. My guess is 2 would be far the most popular answer with less 1 and more 3 than what we see here.

I agree that 2 would be the most popular answer, but I don't think there would be more 3 than seen here, for the simple reason that every time a smoker decides to light up, s/he must be thinking about smoking, and most smokers light up more than several times a day.

I think as a smoker, smoking is always somewhere in the back of your mind, however most of us tend to leave it there until your body starts to crave a cig.
