Before discovering the pleasure of smoking yourself, did anyone give their parents or other family members a hard time about their smoking?

Although both my parents were smokers I don't recall their smoking ever really bothering me and I never gave them a hard time about it. I guess I always kind of knew it might come back to haunt me some day if I did.

My parents and my older brother smoked. I gave them all a hard time about their smoking. My brother told me to just go away, my parents said they understand the dangers, but at the age I was at (maybe 8-9), they said I wouldn't understand about how they couldn't stop.

I was 11 when I had my first cigarette and was hooked not long later. Now I understand why they couldn't stop. My older brother did stop a few years ago.

Dad was a regular smoker but as a youngster I simply accepted it as routine-especially since during the 50's/early 60's most people smoked anyway.As I grew older-rather than question smoking-I became more curious and eventually began smoking from age 17.Still enjoy it today 46 years later!

Growing up I would always gave my father a hard time for smoking. In middle school I turned into a huge anti but in 10th grade saw the light and have been smoking ever since.

When my older brother started smoking he just told me to shut up and to grow up.

Once I had started smoking myself I felt bad about nagging them.

My mom was a secret smoker and I begged her to stop when I found her pack one day when I was 10. Less than a year later I stole my first cigarette from her, been smoking pretty much every day since. That was a pussy cigarette though, True 100's. I soon settled on Marb lights as my first brand.

Funny thing about that. I had a couple of friends in high school that smoked that I definitely gave shit to for smoking. During my last year in senior high school I tried smoking for myself though never really started buying my own packs until my first year in college where 90% of the people I knew smoked in between classes.

Never did - I grew up in a non-smoking house but always had a fascination with it, so whenever I was in the presence of someone who was smoking, I relished it and found it intriguing.

Nope, never gave my father or uncles a hard time, in my family men smoked and to me that was normal.
