Try candles, they hide the smell. We smoke inside our house, everywhere, so I don't know how effective candles are but I heard they clear the tobacco smell.

Try one of those slow release products. Over here you can get them specially formulated to remove stale tobacco smoke. They DO work.I find my living room quite fresh next morning after an evening's steady smoking.

Ozium has worked pretty well for me in my truck.

Other things to look into:

Bad Air Sponge

Smoke Odor Exterminator Candle

Csonka air purifiers

Rabbit air purifiers

Hamilton Beach True Air air purifiers

Holmes smokeless ashtrays

Smoke Buddy personal air filter (commercially made sploof)

Check out your local head shops and smoke shops. They'll usually have an inexpensive product or two that's worth trying. Also, around here, all the Ozium products are in a lot of auto parts stores, so that's someplace else to look.

True Air purifiers didn't help for me, but the hot air heating system was responsible for spreading odors throughout the entire house, and the purifiers couldn't compensate for that. I just got the Bad Air sponge, coincidentally, but haven't tried it yet. I'm expecting to move in about six weeks and I'm waiting until then to see how it works.

Or if you don't want to be too obvious, try activated charcoal. Had any one use them specifically for this purpose?

I have 4 activated charcoal bags in a very small apt. Don't seem to do much good in my opinion.
