These Salems are the best tasting Salems I ever smoked, and that says a lot about this brand to me. They taste stronger than Green Label Salems. And these Salems are similar to Newports. Not in terms of taste. But in terms of the fact this is a brand where you taste more of the tobacco than the actual menthol. The Salem menthol doesn't taste like Newport menthol. They taste decent. But I'd rather smoke Newports than these Salems more often. I did like smoking the one Salem in the black label packs that had the green filters. I think those Salems with the green filter look "Kool."

Ive smoked these off and on. I can smoke these instead of my usual Newport. However unlike other reviews, I dont feel they are that strong. They have a decent taste. Ive never had them scratch my throat..

You gotta be careful with these. They're strong, but anything other than a tiny drag is going to scorch your throat. The menthol does little to ease this feeling, or to enhance the taste.

Salem Black Label is known for being a bolder cigarette. I tried these, and they are definitely strong with the nicotine. They have a harsh taste though, almost too harsh to be covered up by the Menthol.
