I have to give these smokes a 5 star rating. First, the quality of construction of the tube is without exceptions. I was looking at the previous commercials back in the 60s for Lark, and saw the charcoal pellet in the filter. Although the charcoal in today's Lark is throughout the filter, this actually smooths out the taste of the tobacco. A premium cigarette at a premium price, as I live in a state with the highest cig taxes in the nation. A well-rounded flavor that would appeal to any avid cigarette enthusiast. Only comes in SP, and they are similar to Kent (Lorillard), although I suspect that Lark is tighter in the tube tobacco packing. Cheers!

At some point in the last 13 or so years Lark changed a little. The old Lark had two cotton parts of the filter with a center of charcoal between the two, known as their "gas trap filter".You could shake the ciggarette and hear the charcoal rattle if you listened closely. The old Lark was awesome!! It truley was "richly rewarding and uncommonly smoothe." The charcoal and top quality tobacco made it a SUPERIOR brand. The newer Lark has charcoal dispersed through the filter, not in the center of the filter like the old "gas trap" filter. The newer Lark is still smoothe and good tasting, but not as good as classic Lark.Lark was a Liggett and Myers brand for years, then it was sold to Phillip Morris- I dont know who owns Lark now.It is a classic brand with a heritage, still good but not the same.By the way, I quit years ago, only smoke on occasion. But when I think back on my smoking years, Lark was one of my all time favorites. The smoothness is similiar to Tarreyton, another charcoal filtered brand. Also worth noting is Lark used to have really groovy magazine advertising, with hot air balloons that said LARK!! It was cool.Much like Terryton, Lark stopped most advertising in the 1980's.If you dont advertise, people will forget about your brand.I think thats what was the downfall of Lark.It is also my understanding that Lark was never a top,top selling brand like Marlboro or Camel- but Lark had class and was a step above average by far!!

Lark are amazing cigarettes, perhaps one of the only brands that have an honest 'good tobacco taste'. They are also, sadly, quite difficult to find in the United States. I live in New York City and cigarettes are up to 13 dollars a pack now. I smoke less now, and usually hit up friends travelling overseas to get me some cigs in an airport duty free, or order online. Lark are very popular in Japan. It's shame the brand has fizzled out in the US. Hands down the best cigarette. I like charcoal filters and in gneral (also not common on US sigs, but common in Japan), and Lark's rich tasting blend. Lark- an amazing smoke if you can find them

My first cigarette and still my favorite but I can no longer find them in King Size Full Flavor anywhere (even online). I guess they are discontinued. Lark has a unique taste that is wonderful to me. Maybe it is the charcoal filter? Anyway, I wish these were available and not so expensive. When I started they were about $9 per carton which seems like another lifetime.

Lark is a very high-quality and interesting brand which reminds me of Tareyton in a very fond way.The taste is of a nice full-flavored cigarette but much smoother and well-rounded taste than any other full-flavored filter cigarette on the market, which is why I rated it as a medium smoke. It has a very nice burn time for a pleasureable smoking experience:)
