Kools used to be more popular than they are now. They're made by RJ Reynolds (Camel, Pall Mall) and are easy to find. Packs of Kools are all green with white letters which say "True Menthol" among other things on the front and back of the pack. They also come in a "2-way" pack, which means that you can open them like a normal pack or a soft pack. Kools come in actual soft packs too. Kools have been around for a long time, and they use their experience to back up their claim of bringing smokers a "True Menthol" cigarette. Everybody hates those false menthols, so why shouldn't Kools be good? Kools are normal looking cigarettes that burn reasonably slow, are easy to hit, and do, in fact, taste pretty good to some people. Personally, I like Kools but would definitely say that they're kind of an "old school" menthol rather than being like Marlboro Smooths or Camel Whites or whatever. The menthol and strength aren't overwhelming if you've been smoking for a little while. The menthol itself doesn't dominate the entire taste of the cigarette, but it tends to give (me, at least) an aftertaste that lasts for a while after smoking one. When compared to Newports, which are also "classic" menthols in a way, Kool are cheaper, have a slightly similar, yet different taste, and aren't smoked by as many people around me. I smoked Kools for a couple months once but I eventually got tired of the taste. Get a pack for yourself since they're about as expensive as Camels or Marlboros and probably won't disappoint you if you like menthols. I do know some menthol smokers who hate Kools, so you just have to see!
