Always up for a good menthol cigar/cigarette, and these totally give you a minty-fresh taste, as well as clear your sinuses. The cigar is not too thick nor too harsh and, as typical of Djarum, is thoroughly pleasant and comforting.

As experienced clove smokers know, clove oil is a local anesthetic. As experienced menthol smokers know, menthol is a local anesthetic. Combine the two and you get a *very* smooth cigarette, still with all that clovey goodness. Granted, the flavors don't complement each-other perfectly, but it's still a welcome relief from other clove cigarettes that often leave your throat and lungs feeling like they're made of old drywall. Additionally, I have observed that the Djarum Menthols last about 1/3 longer than regular Djarums, and pack a bigger nicotine kick - I don't know if the tobacco is packed in more tightly, if it has more nicotine and/or if the filter is more porous or what, but overall this is my favorite clove cigarette for its smoothness, outrageous lifespan, and surprising kick. But if you're not already a menthol person (i.e. unless you like Camel Menthols and Newports) you probably would find it difficult to adjust to this strange combination of flavors.

I know clove cigarettes get a bad rap as being the smoke of choice for hipsters and a**holes, but I decided to give them a chance just to see what the fuss was about. Boy was I surprised by this wonderful smoke. The moment I opened the pack, I was hit by an incredible aroma. A lot like scented pine cones, it reminds me of Christmas time each time I open the pack and exponentially more so when I light one up. The first couple puffs don't feel like much; in fact they're so smooth you hardly realize you're smoking at all. By about 1/3 through, I started feeling a nice buzz, but considering these are a little under 100mm and last, no joke, over 10 minutes a smoke (sometime even 15 if you take it slow and enjoy it), this was only the beginning. Each puff is pleasant and flavorful and even somewhat sweet, and makes that buzz just a little bit stronger. This is the only cigarette/mini cigar I've ever had where the buzz just keeps getting stronger as you smoke it. By the time you near the filter, the buzz can become so intense it makes your hands shake a little, but it also becomes incredibly hot. It goes from being almost unnoticeable to very harsh as you get to the end, but I don't really mind. The only downsides are the price, the fact that it makes your mouth smell horrible, and it leaves your throat rather dry and sometimes even sore if you smoke a couple back to back.

I rather like Djarum Black Vanilla cigars, but compared to those, the methols are pretty weak and not as tasty. The combination of clove and menthol is subtle, but a bit odd

I rather like them, but the combination of cloves and menthol is somewhat conflicting, and in my opinion seems unnatural. Very odd.

When I first tried Djarum Menthols, I didn't care too much for them. About 3 to 5 cigarettes into a pack though, I really started enjoying them. If you like menthols and/or Djarums, then you owe it to yourself to pick up a pack of Djarum Menthols and try them out. Just don't give up on them right away because their taste will grow on you.
