Didn't notice much of difference in taste from regular, I wish they added more perique tobacco to the cigarettes. Aside from the Fire Safe Chemical aftertaste it's not too bad.

I bought a pouch of this finally at my local smokeshop. The pouch aroma is very unique; it smells almost like tea. It is a little moist, not too dry and rolls and packs very well; whether I am using my Premier Supermatic or my JOB 110mm roller, it rolls like a champ. The smoke itself is not too bad, not as full flavored as I suspected. It does have a nice spicy component to it that I find nice, but the overall tobacco is a little light for my taste. I really like darker blends like Drum, Bali Shag and other halfzwares. But this isn't bad for a change of ppace. The only downside I have is the cost, $12 for a pouch is a little rediculous, I can get 2-pouches of Peter Stokkebye Amsterdam Shag for the same price.

I registered for the soul purpose of bashing Bali-Shag's dramatic downfall in quality. But I can't help but review my favorite tobacco on the market as well. American Spirit Perique is all I can smoke now. Once you get used to it's "punch to the face" taste, nothing else measures up. I roll it unassisted and unfiltered. The flax papers are comparable to zigzag, thinner and stronger than standard paper. Due to there being zero additives, 1 out of about 6 packs will come at a desired humidity level depending on your climate. Mostly it will be too dry and by the time you get to the bottom of the pouch your makings will have crumbled to a powder. To prevent this you must humidify it. American spirit sells pocket humidifiers which I never bothered purchasing myself. I made my own from baked clay and a torn off piece of sponge. Or you could just get a small piece of paper napkin, soak it, and wrap it in a piece of plastic with small holes in it.

Very good smoke. One of my favorite tobaccos for rolling. Has kind of a spice-like taste to it. Highly recommended.

This is my cigarette of choice. I like these for how long the burn time on them are. They burn usually about 7-10 minutes depending on how fast the smoker is. Not only that, but the spicy and bold taste keeps you smoking less then a pack of marlboros would. Overall, these cigarettes are probably the best on the market next to Nat Shermans.

Very good rolling tobacco, I like rolling it by hand and it has a nice taste and a spicy flavor. It is good to try new things once in a while and I saw this on the shelf at the store and just had to give it a try.

I bought a deluxe rolling machine a Premier.Abox 3"by 5" with a handle.I rolled perique's for 5 years with the wood cellulose filter tubes.Cost me about $1.75 a pack.Best tasting,Organic grown tobacco on the planet.I only smoked a pack every3-4 days so I eventually quit because I got married and my wife could'nt stand the smoke. I smoked because I liked it not because I was addicted. If I ran out of Perique and bought a pack of marlboro, camel or any other, I would'nt be able to breathe for days due to all the additives. If you are a big smoker and are smoking those 007's because your brand is too expensive get regular blend american spirit mailordered and invest in a $40 rolling machine not a cheap plastic one but a premium. Look on google for the address and roll your own for a little more than a dollar a pack. your rolling machine will pay for itself in a month.

This has strong taste to it. The tobacco smells awesome but the smoke probably not so much. I felt the nicotine in it the first time I smoked it I had to sit down. It was a little harsh on my throat probably because of the high tar and lack of additives. This is probably my fault since the tobacco was dry. I use tubes I can't imagine what it would feel like unfiltered. I almost always mix it with largo now partially so it injects better which is another thing I didn't like.

Very tasty, very strong. However, this could never be my regular cigarette. You'll know what I mean once you try a few.

Great rolling cig. You'll reek like a bum for days but its a good cig. You can really taste the oak barrel conditioning and it smokes harsh, full flavor with harsh tannins after a big drag. This is the kind of smoke you want for a big trip for a tough break up - not something you wanna take to the bar every night. It'll kick you in the butt the first time - and the last.

Ah, American Spirit Perique... Well... I've been smoking since I was 13 (terrible I know, yes, I do know the health risks) and I enjoy it, I only smoke around 2 a day. At that young age I was forced to smoke whatever I could get my hands on, mainly blagging the odd straight of someone for 50p. But one day I came across American Spirit Perique :) Well number one theres the taste, it's not too harsh and it's not too perfumed, it's pretty well balanced, you also don't have to take mega tokes to get your desired nicotine hit. Seeing as it's American Spirit Perique, it has a very mild smoke. I also genuinley believe that isn't as bad for your health as other tobaccos, it doesn't have as many chemical 'nasties' as others. One sure way to test tobaccos for chemicals is to light roll-ups with different tobacco in each, put them in an ashtray and see how long they take to go out. The shorter amount of time they take the less chemicals they have. To be honest, I wouldn't reccoment smoking at all, but if you do smoke, and smoke roll-ups, American Spirit Perique is the best out there.
