Seriously, I don't see the preference of hard packs over soft packs. The utility is fine, and you don't crush them, but what happened to aesthetics, what happened to the air of romance around smoking? Keeping your cigs in a box means that you don't give a shit. Don't you love smoking? Don't you care about doing it right? I wouldn't be able to live like that.

Who the hell cares if you have a soft pack or not?
Smoking is smoking. It's people like you who are ruining smoking. The art of smoking. Why complicate things? What ever happened to a good old fashioned lighter and cigarette? Why do you have to make everything stupid and complicated?

Just smoke.

If you like box packs, use them, if you like soft packs, use them.

I use boxed because I have to put my smokes in my pocket, and soft pack cigarettes tend to crush in MY pocket. And I also pack my box of cigarettes before opening it, and I get a much better pack with a hard box than with a soft pack.

So stop ruining this wonderful hobby of ours with nonsense BS like what kind of packs you should and shouldn't use. There is no standard etiquette. Smoking is a personal hobby, not a public one with rules and regulations. If someone enjoys smoking in a certain way from a certain box with a certain lighter and a certain brand, everything is all good because this person is doing what he/she enjoys, which is what smoking is all about, personal pleasure.

Just smoke.

Default yup

I had a buddy of mine go get me a carton of cigarettes once. he came back with a full carton of soft pack marlboro reds.. after the first pack got crushed i went and got me a metal cigarette case. I now still use it for work so even hard packs wont get crushed in my back pocket.

Personally, I believe that something as fragile as a cigarette should always come in a hard pack. It would be nice if all cigarette packagea were as attractive (and sturdy) as the ones from manufactures such as Nat Sherman.

One of the reasons I love Lucky Strikes!

They are short, but to the point

I've always hated soft packs. They get crushed way to easy and can be a pain to get a cig out at times. If i have to buy soft packs, I usually will swap them out into a hard pack and since I've been RYOing, I have some plastic cases to put cigs in that i use to prevent them getting broken up.
