Default Packing a carton? Does that work?

Ok, so today my friend went out and bought a carton of cigs today. I went with him because I needed some smokes too. So, after we get back to his place, here's something I've never seen before. It was what he did to "pack his smokes". Like he just slammed the whole carton down on the table about 7 or 8 times, like he told me that if you do that, then all of the packs in the carton get packed all at once, instead of packing them all one at a time. I really don't know if that would work or not, to me, it seems like packing them one at a time would work better than doing that, what do u guys think?

I understand the point of packing a pack in order to keep the tobacco firmly in a cig. But I dunno about packing a whole carton. Wouldn't that bend the end of the cigs in all of those packs? I do mean the tobacco ends of course.

As for me personally, I neva did pack my own packs let alone my cartons.

Of course, he slammed the carton on the Filter end right? Because if he did it on the cig end, he would damage the cigs? I can see how it might work if the carton with cigs inside is pretty tight. Seems like most cartons are pretty tight. It would probably work better with "boxed" brands I bet.

Packing them one pack at a time definitely works for sure.

Default How to Pack a Carton of Cigarettes

Oh yeah it works, I posted on how to do it in another thread.

Here's what you do.

Either - smack the whole thing on a table 8-10 times (make sure you got it turned the right way)

OR

Pack half a side at a time on your whole hand. I prefer this method b/c it ensures every cigarette in every packed is compressed perfectly.

Let's face it, who doesnt love a packed smoke? The physical act of it just isnt as cool to do anymore...

and if you have one stog only, god knows why, but i did, cuz i bummed one and so what you do is keep dropping it on the filter side, and in about 20 drops it'll become packed too
