I light with a Zippo, and I've noticed the taste of the naphtha fuel on the lightup drag, so I don't inhale it. I barely even taste it since I puff it out right away.

Default Light Up Drag

I pack my cigarettes so hard that the light up drag is mostly burned paper. I usually don't even inhale the first drag too hard because of that.

I make my own cigarettes. After I roll up 1 pack, I pack them buy slamming the upside-down pack against one palm like I've seen many smokers do (mostly Marlboro smokers). This leaves a small empty space on the end of my cigs. I delay the 1st inhale on the first drag when I put the fire to the cig and by the time I inhale, that empty part is all burned up. Sometimes, I'll twist the end like its a doobie and then light it.

well i can figure why people dont inhale the light up drag, it's probably cause of the first drag taste like lighter fluid to me and when i take a drag i usually take to drags or more then exhale, but now i started smoking out of a pipe =p

If you pack your cigarettes well, as any good smoker does, the first drag is going to be lighter fluid and paper. If you don't pack your cigs well, the first drag is still going to be a lot of lighter fluid.

Just watch older (experienced smokers) smoke, and you'll notice they never inhale the first drag, there's a reason.
