I smoke clove cigarettes and sometimes Nat Sherman, so I never have to pack my cigarettes, as they are packed nearly to bursting to begin with.

I agree, those Nat Shermans are definitely packed to bursting capacity. Makes the smoke really strong IMHO.

The best way is to not to. All that it does is justmake it easer to light and send all of the bad stuff into one concentrated place. Or if you are hellbent on packing them, one at a time (before you light up) filter down on a table or your lighter a few time does the trick too.

I usually get about 1/8 inch of just paper when I pack them hard. The first drag is VERY harsh and I usually don't inhale it, just blow it out. I find my cigarette burns much better with a nice tight pack.

Question Lucky Strikes Question

I have been smoking Luckys for about 6 months. Should I pack them? I would only do it to make them burn slower. Any tips?

i cannot believe none of you pack your cigarettes! iv been smoking for about 8 pleasurable months now, and, out of just watching, always packed my cigarettes. i thought it was a must for smokers. but, on topic, packing your cigarettes will make them burn slower.
look at it this way - packing down your cigarettes creates a more concentrated tobacco, meaning a harder, heavier hit, due to less oxygen and more smoke coming from inside the cigarette, and this ia the sole reason i pack mine until my palm hurts.

I'm generally a newport smoker which are the best cigarettes to pack but I like to use tables or other hard surfaces because of the fact that packing on my hand doesn't get that 1/4 inch that I like plus it just hurts. But I definately pact my cigarettes because the burn slower and are stronger.
