I've never used snus, and I don't even know anyone that uses it, so I really don't know anything about it. I'll be going to German soon (11 hour flight) so I'd like to try it since obviously you can't smoke on a plane. I'd like to get some info on it before I buy any though. These may seem dumb but bare with me.

1. Do you buy snus as a single item or is it in a pack like cigarettes?
2. What is the strength? Is one snus like smoking one cigarette?
3. How much does snus cost on average? I've been thinking about getting Marlboro snus just because I'm familiar with the cigarettes.

You can't smoke in planes on Russia, but in the terminals there are smoking areas equipped with vents to suck away the smoke. Was cool to see when I was there.

Yeah it's not that popular yet. I've seen probably twenty people use it four of whom used swedish snus two of whom are girls ha ha. You can't tell if someones using it though unless you see them put a pouch in their mouth. It takes practice to place it so you don't have to spit but gutting it isn't hard. I haven't tried Marlboro because it's like 3 dollars for 6 pouches or 50 cents a pouch and I'd rather buy a can of swedish snus or dip. On a snus forum I've heard some people who use swedish snus thought the Marlboro Rich and Mild are decent and kind of sweet. I'd go with camel frost or mellow if you're not getting swedish snus since they taste sweet which is probably good.

1. You don't buy single pouches of snus. It's a can filled with pouches of tobacco or loose tobacco. Swedish snus mostly comes in plastic tins so it doesn't dry out, the loose is packed in paperboard which allows it to breath, a couple use old school square packaging which looks likes camel actually with even edges. Camel is packaged in metal tins and marlboro is sold in "packs" of 6.

2. This depends on the brand camel and marlboro say they have 6-7mg of nicotine per pouch. Swedish snus has anywhere from 3-19mg depending on the brand. How dry the snus is and the ph balance also effects how much is absorbed and camel and marlboro don't seem to have much experience with either. Individual body chemistry also effects how much you absorb. The nicotine from snus is a different feeling than smoking you get a build up of nicotine and then however you feel at ten minutes you'll feel that way until you take the pouch out after which the feeling lasts for an hour or so. Camel and marlboro are probably weaker than one cigarette I've heard some people can hold over fine and people who dip especially say I may as well shove candy in lip same thing. Any regular strength Swedish snus is all generally stronger than a cigarette with about 1.2mg absorbed for the average person. It feels like a lot more than one cigarette in my experience. If you use a strong or extra sterk brand you'll get a nicotine buzzed.

3. Camel is around 4-6 dollars for 15 pouches(9g of tobacco). Marlboro is 2-3 dollars for 6 pouches (I think around 4g of tobacco) this is in Wa which is a high tax state for Smokeless tobacco your price is wholesale price times x ? percent tax or plus some amount. You can find specials on camel snus for 12 pouches sometimes. Swedish snus is 2.50-4 dollars for 24 pouches (24g of tobacco) online at Northerner, buysnus, or other sites. If your able to find a tobacco shop that sells them they're usually around 4-6 dollars depending on your state. Camel is cheaper compared to Marlboro.
