In some hospital they were threatening to throw people out, I'm sure that would stop after the first wrongful death lawsuit.

AMEN!!! Thank you. I couldn't have said it better myself. As long as it doesn't affect me I don't care who does who or what or where. Our hospital here in southern Indiana is smoke free now and you have to go to a public sidewalk to smoke. What a crock. If I'm ever hospitalized they better give me some serious meds to calm my cravings.

I remember my dad being in there for many different things and he could smoke in his room. They would put two smokers together in a room and two non-smokers in another. Doctors and nurses were always dropping by for a smoke break. You could also smoke in the cafeteria and waiting rooms as well.

In Eastern Europe many doctors smoke in the hospital break room.

In Canada you'd be flogged for lighting up in a bar, much less a hospital. I suppose if you were near death there isn't much they could do and if I was in that situation God knows I'd be doing it myself. There is supposed to be a total smoking ban on all hospital properties here in BC but every time I've been to hospitals there are always patients standing outside smoking. What are they going to do; escort them off the grounds? Not much they can do when even the doctors and nurses smoke out there. In fact there's an area outside the cafeteria in the hospital I've been to a few times recently where all the employees go to smoke (underneath the no smoking signs).

Default eCig in Tampa

That's true! A company called Districtecig.com are selling eCigs there. They say that since the hospital allowed this, the patients are happier, the staff are also happier, and people are getting through the day much better...amazing!

There is a hospital in Pa that presecreens applicants for Nicotine. We are one of the states that allow it, and if you have nicotine in your system then you will not be hired.
