Default Lol, I just got threatened to be reported

Wow, lol, this was just funny as hell. So, I did the usual this morning, I went up to the gas station to buy a pack of smokes. So I go outside of this gas station and open up my pack and smoke one of my cigarettes, and after I get done finishing it, I do what I usually do, I just throw the butt on the ground and walk away. Well, this time, I throw my butt on the ground, and all of a sudden like some lady who works at the gas station is like "Pick that up". So, I just kind of ignore her and walk away, so then she follows me back to my car, and she says "I said, pick that up, don't make me say it again." And I was like, "What if I don't?" so she says "I will report you for....." I forget what it was she said, she said like for "inappropriate littering" or "unnecessary littering" or something, she said like "You can be fined up to 300 dollars if I tell someone, so it's best you just pick it up" so I still did what I was doing, I just get in my car and just pretend like she isn't even there and I just drive away. Lol, God, non-smokers are the most obnoxious people out there.

That chick sounds stupid as heck. How is she gonna call the cops if she's gonna allow you to drive off? LOL!!!!

If dropping a butt is littering, gimme a Fkin break! People drop bottles and cans all the time. How come THEY don't get fined for littering, and I do mean the drunks.

Good for you man! Thats so ridiculous - stand up for your rights and never let the attitude of the righteous 'non-smokers' get to you. Someone call the short white bus on that crazy chick

the limit of our smoking rights is just one of the many other thousand rights we are being denied of, first off the United States of America was born on cotton and tobacco, tobacco is the foundation of this great nation. With which you can see how they want to cut back on anything that can give us a sense of peace and pleasure. In todays society we are controlled by time, alway need to be at work or not to be idle. And that is what a cigarette grants us, it grants us freedom of time, it differs us from a robot, someone who just wakes up at 8 in the morning and runs off to work and comes back to such a dull day. And that is the last thing that the goverment wants, is for the common man to be idle, and when the common man is idle, he will do a very very bad thing, he will think. SCREW YOU ANTI SMOKING SISSIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and i love my grandpa who has taught me the pleasures of smoking

suffice it to say, if you smoke cigarettes, everyone feels they can persecute a cigarette smoker simply because it has absolutely no consequences...but last time i checked, this is still America, land of the Free, right? or wrong? :-(

Sadly we're slowly losing our freedoms.

Which sucks when I'm libertarian.

This is rich. The guy throws a cigarette butt on the ground, and is (rightfully) called on it, and then a bunch of people come to complain about the encroachment on the rights of smokers. The right to do what? Litter? Give me a break! Would you complain about the rights of soda drinkers if I made a post complaining about getting caught throwing my Mountain Dew bottle on the ground?

Personally, I always throw my butts in the trash. If there is no suitable receptacle available, I will keep the butt with me until I find one. For me, this issue goes beyond smokers vs. nonsmokers. I am strongly against littering in any form. I never, ever do it, and it makes my blood boil to see other people do it so flagrantly. Throwing your butts (or cans or bottles for that matter) on the ground is a trashy, crude, and chavish thing to do, and only harms the environment and gives non-smokers more ammo to use against us.

Throwing a soda bottle on the ground is littering for sure. Throwing a butt in a trash receptacle causes fires. A lot of establishments have receptacles for your butts near entry doors. If an establishment don't have a receptacle, then definitely, it is OK to stomp the butt out on the ground and leave it there. Maybe that establishment will get the message and put out a receptacle. If we got to have smoking bans to appease Anti's, then anti's or non-smokers can accomodate smokers as well by placing receptacles for the butts. The only place a butt should ever be kept on you is outdoors where your thrown butt could cause a forest fire IMHO.

Actually, I saw butts on the ground outdoors my entire life, even in the days when smoking was socially acceptable. Even back then, you wouldn't find ashtrays in front of every building or every corner. But of course, I see MORE butts in the environment now that people can't smoke in places period.

I've seen empty cans and bottles on the streets for years. Whether you like it or not, you're gonna find litter on the streets as long as you live (and I'm not just talking about butts or empty packs,...nonsmokers will be throwing their empty bottles and cans on the streets.

I hope more people like yourself realized if we didn't have smoking bans, you wouldn't have to worry about seeing more butts and more empty packs in the streets. That should be more ammo for antis to realize that unless you install ashtrays in front of every building, banning smoking is a bad idea, because when you force smokers outside, where they're supposed to put their butts out at if there are no ashtrays?

That's no different from a tavern forcing people to drink outside, but the tavern doesn't have the common sense to put trash cans outside. If people are gonna drink outside, the owner needs to put trash cans out there. If people are gonna smoke outside, the owner needs to install ashtrays. It ain't my fault if a businesses refuses to give me accomodations by having no ashtrays when I smoke outside.

If smokers could smoke inside as they're supposed to, you would see a lot fewer butts in the streets, since more people would be smoking inside.
