Default Violating a smoking ban ain't no crime

20-30 years ago, nobody viewed smoking inside of public places a crime. Smoking used to be perfectly normal in public places.

Now, states with smoking bans define violating a smoking ban as a crime, since the cops treat violations as criminal reports.

If smoking a legal proudct in public IS a crime, I hope cops won't go as far as sending people to jail for smoking cigs. I guess we gotta build prisons specifically for smoking ban violators. We can't fill up prisons with smokers....where are the REAL criminals gonna go to if they sent to jail?

I guess a smoker like me would be on the FBI's Most Wanted list since I hate smoking bans. And since I pay taxes like otha Americans, I have every right to smoke in some kind of area within say an arena that my tax money paid for.

I can only laugh at violating a smoking ban being defined as a "crime." If you wanna know the real definition of "crime," you can turn on the local news if you around in my area. Crimes MUCH WORSE than a smoking ban violator happen every day in Chicagoland.

Yeah, its really quite pathetic what it has come down to nowadays. What constitutes a "crime" nowadays is so stupid. "Hate speech", "smoking", "menacing bumper stickers". I just stay in my house all the time now and don't come out. Who knows, I might get arrested for mowing my lawn. I might get arrested for checking my mailbox. I might get arrested for saying "Merry Christmas" to the hot chick across the street. If I see bad things happening when I look out my window, I don't call the cops either. Calling the cops for any reason means you "bothering them" by making them leave the donut shop and they have to take YOU to jail for something, anything...to justify the visit. Better to just not call them no matter what it is and stay inside and mind your own business.

I'd stay in anyway. I can't smoke anywhere in public, and outdoor smoking bans are becoming more common. So what's the point of going out to eat or drink if you smoke?

If I'm eating in a restaurant, I'm gonna smoke. Whetha antis like it or not.
