Default Australia bans distinctive pack designs of cigarettes.

"Australia is introducing a single design model for cigarette packs of all the brands sold in the country. The respective law has been adopted by the country’s parliament, and after approval by the Governor-General it may come into force."

The rest of the world is going "Nanny State".

Just another reason why I am glad I live in the U.S.A.

At least we are still fighting for freedom here.

Old news, i know, but damn... what's next? Bland gov't issue uniforms for civilians? Grey socks, grey shoes, grey pants, grey shirts.... or brown shirts...

It's not like the packs come wrapped in pornography or subliminal advertising. There are many other ways to say that cigarettes are not candy...

Damn, I'm glad I don't live in Australia. They have crappy gun laws too. I hope the Australian government goes bankrupt from all the tax revenue they lose when they finally succeed in eradicating all cigarette sales.

I'm glad too. The US are the first country of having a First Amendment that protects their rights. And they have a strong peoples that can rebell against such things.

But other countries don't.
In my opinion, Australia's policies shows what others countries will become in the future....

You fucking kidding me? Even the one thing me and most non-smokers can agree on is that pack designs can be good looking and stylish. Camel's distinct... well camel, is a well known symbol, as well and Marlboro's triangle thing, Parliament, hell, American Spirit. This is just plain stupid and won't help anything.
