Default U.S.Judge Blocks Graphic Warning Labels

The U.S. Congress, along with the FDA, wanted this and they thought
they would get easy.

Several U.S. tobacco companies sued.

They won this round.

This fight could continue for years.

I know in many countries these labels are allowed, but their citizens are also
denied other rights that here in the U.S. we still have.

A victory for now.

A rare victory in the courts for smokers and no comments?

This is good news for now.Now if we could get them to repeal FSC and the Gestapo like anti smoking laws that make smokers look like second class citizens.

Definitely a victory - those warning labels were way over the top to begin with....

I"m glad that we did get this small victory, but really makes no difference to me what warnings are on the pack. I would rather they repealed this FSC bs first.

If you live in states, write your local congressman.

I know it's a long shot, but it's worth fighting for.

Don't have a llink to post at the moment,
but last week another U.S. judge
ruled that the graphic warning labels wanted
by the FDA were unconstitutional.

Will post a link asap.

Clearly, a small victory for all of us smokers. It would be great if more smokers would stand up for themselves by blogging, writing congressmen and senators and anything else that causes an uproar. As long as smokers sit back and take it, there will be no stopping the politicians.

When did FDA approve the use of FSCs? They weren't even aware of it until after it was implemented by state legislators. Why not just get rid of the FDA regarding tobacco and put two-faced Philip Morris (Altria) in charge? Seems like nobody at FDA operates with any kind of common sense or factual thinking. I can't believe this statement they released that says e-cigarettes are more dangerous than tobacco cigarettes. Maybe the e-cigs coming from China are dangerous but from my recent experience with American made e-cigs, to me, they represent the greatest tobacco smoking cessation device ever invented! Damn you FDA!

I get all my pre-packaged smokes now from overseas sites. They don't have FSCs in them mostly (unless you order Nat Shermans) and I don't mind the big block letter warning labels that much. Especially since I always put a fresh pack in my cigarette pack holder sos I don't have to see those labels.
