It's great to hear that you guys are fighting this. Where I live, in the southeast, city after city, town after town have caved in to the no smoking bans despite some opposition from town leaders and citizens. We have lost the fight here. I hope you in the Wild Wild West keep the fires of freedom alive. |

| I'm glad the county in FL that I live in, you can still smoke in bars. I mean, a drink and a smoke go hand in hand! I think most people assume that when going into a bar, there will be smoking! I've dated many nonsmokers who understand that I smoke. Period! If they wanna hang with me, they need to accept it or move on! I also love smoking a cig right after a meal. Miss the days of being able to do that. Now we have to go outside in the 98 degree heat with 100% humidity! It really sucks! I understand nonsmokers can't stand the smell, etc...So I understand. Just sucks. :/ I never smoke in my house or my car because as much as I love smoking, I hate the smell of stale smoke. But I wanna be able to go to a bar and enjoy a beer and a cig once in awhile. I thought that places like Wyoming and the Dakota's you could smoke wherever you'd like! Guess I was wrong... |

| Well, you can still smoke in the bars in Pasco County, FL but that's about it. No restaurants or anything unless you go outside on the patio's of the restaurants. Which isn't so bad if they have fans and misty fans. I've heard you can't even smoke on the sidewalks in the "land of fruits and nuts" CA. Is that true? |

| press>>>play We were born to mothers who smoked and drank Our cribs were covered in lead based paint No child proof lids no seat belts in cars Rode bikes with no helmets and still here we are, still here we are We got daddy's belt when we misbehaved Had three TV channels you got up to change No video games and no satellite All we had were friends and they were outside, playin' outside It was a different life When we were boys and girls Not just a different time It was a different world School always started the same every day The pledge of allegiance then someone would pray Not every kid made the team when they tried We got disappointed and that was all right, we turned out all right No bottled water, we drank from a garden hose And every Sunday, all the stores were closed It was a different world ~As recorded by Bucky Convington |

"And they wonder why childhood obesity is at an all time high." I teach 7th grade language arts at the same school I attended back in the 1960s as a student. I remember there were only a few obese students. In the lunchroom we were drinking whole milk, real butter on our bread, salt and pepper shakers on every table. Real Cokes and candy in the vending machine outside. Today, over a third or more of the students are overweight. I have been there over ten years and the numbers seem to increase every year. They have banned sodas, only low fat milk, multi-grain bread, no butter, no salt, candy, cookies etc. You said it right, it's lack of physical activity. Back in the day we were riding bikes, walking to school and playing outside till dark. |
