Default Kinda new to RYO

When I lived in Florida, they had the shops you could go in and a big machine to RYO. I can't find any place like that around here, so I bought an electric machine and am trying to do it at home.

The problem is, the machine clogs up, or something, and the little metal arm that holds the cigarette while the spring spins and fills it, falls off. I end up having to hold the metal arm to keep it from spinning, to get the cigarette to fill. Am I doing something wrong? Sometimes the tobacco clumps up in the tube. Is this a sign of too dry or too moist tobacco?

Please help.
