Just curious what all of you get out of a lb of tobacco. I googled it and first one i read said 2 cartons, next one i clicked said 2.5, then i saw a video on youtube and the guy said upto 4. So i want to hear what YOU guys get! I'll be using a topomatic to make King sized cigarettes how many cartons do you guys think i'll yield per lb. Thanks

a lot depends on the tobacco's cut, and how dense you stuff your stiks and there are other factors as well, ie filter length. Gizeh SilverTip EXTRA with their 25mm filters give me an extra stik every six cigs over tubes with 15mm filters. I'm mainly stuffing tubes with 20mm filtered tubes

i've weighed a tub of tobacco, before and after stuffing, mainly value tobaccos like Ohm, SS Mellow & Kentucky Select and it worked out to approx 6 ounces per carton or 2.66 cartons per lb.

stuffing GH Kendal Gold, with it's fine shag cut, the stik seems to accept more tobacco, and even though i stuff them lighter (or not as dense) it worked out to 6.8 oz per carton, or 2.35 cartons per lb. I stuff them "less dense" not for economy but cause i found the taste coming thru is a little stronger when more air can flow thru, i suspect i get more tobacco burning on a draw

A pound is 454 grams. If you figure a gram per cigarette, that comes to 2.27 cartons. Of course, nobody exactly measures each stick, so there is going to be some variation, as others have already mentioned. I think 2.5 cartons, a little more or a little less, is probably the average.

I get about 2.5 cartons per pound with most brands of tobacco on my TOM.
To get close to 4 cartons he must be using Laramie short 68mm tubes. Or using a 70mm roller with 20mm filters.

I read somewhere that is why D&R has 14 oz bags. Makes sense for them.

It was a video on youtube of the guy from the online store i just purchased from. He was rolling 100's on a TOM. Says a LB of tobacco yields 4 cartons, i knew it was way too much. Think he's just trying to push the idea of RYO since it's his bread and butter.

Yep 2.5 cartons more or less depending on the stems and shake in the bag. Not sure about everyone else but my packs contain 18 smokes so my cartons are 1 pack short of the nasty factory sticks.
