Default natural/organic tobacco

first post greetings to all you puffers.
i've been smoking kentucky select organic (pipe) cigarette tobacco and it's nice, smooth, no chemicals. anyhow, rollyourown.com is out of stock, and i've only been buying from them out of convenience, so your recommendations for a natural smoke would be most appreciated. the kentucky select is now $103. for 5 pounds plus shipping.
thanks... chuck

Never tried KSO, but I can tell you that PS Virginia is just plain tobacco. Same variety, I smoke alot of it. Can be had for $20/lb at lilbrown, free shipping if you order before 8/1. May tie you over till your stuff is back in stock.

Never tried, but same type thing is D&R Windsail.

Whole bunch more "chemical free" that are blends and/or have "naturalish" flavors added, just not certified organic. Depends how important the organic hype is to you.

organic isn't important, as long as the tobacco is free from chemicals. ..chuck

Many to choose from, a good opportunity to try new stuff.
To narrow the list, what premium tobaccos have you tried?
Should it also be again a 100% virginia?

Welcome by the way, me new to the forum also.

Without much to narrow the list, most anything by PS or D&R falls into the "doesn't smoke harshly" category.

I like PS Virginia, Norwegian, Turkish and Amsterdam pipe cuts.

Have not tried all D&R selections, enough at least, that I will only buy Three Sails for now on.

What I like means nothing, your mileage may vary.

Default Virginia vs low cost burley

Virginia is the only tobacco with natural sugars, why used exclusively in organic/additive free cigarettes.

Burley has zero natural sugars, requires sweetners and flavorings to be palatable and have good smokability.

All low cost RYO is burley because it is cheaper, often imported from places like India and the Phillippines, cheaper still.

Low cost "natural" RYO is usually imported low grade burley with no essential flavorings or sweetners. I have tried OHM Natural for a couple weeks, had to stop, it was destroying my mouth. Will never touch it again.

If your are currently enjoying KSO, downgrading to low cost natural will not be comparable. Two completely different tobacco plants and grades. Good reasons why one cost more than the other.

Hope this helps narrow your search.
