I’ve spent the last few years moving around, when I finally made it back to Michigan the prices of cigarettes started to wear on me. I stopped in ‘That’s How We Roll’ and was surprised by how relaxed and friendly the atmosphere was, having been used to just picking up a pack of smokes from the gas station. I was greeted with a smile and an explanation on my choices by someone who treated me more like a friend than a ‘sale’. Imagine my surprise to hear that I could choose from Menthol, Silver(Ultra Light), Gold(Light), Red(Full) or a mix of Gold/Red(Medium). On top of that all are additive and FSC free, straight from the farm in Kentucky. They’re kept in tubs that are checked throughout the day to ensure the humidity is the perfect level unlike the stuff in the bags you get from other places.The machines (capable of rolling 200 cigarettes in 8 minutes) are operated by the customers while an employee helps introduce them to the functions of it. The store guarantees 190 of your 200 cigarettes will roll or you’ll get 2$ of your next order, they also have near daily deals and have frequency cards that will get you 2$ off each order as well as 5$ off your next order after you have it punched 5 times.

I know this Lansing native will be greatly sad if the state gets there way and pushes out a new healthier and more affordable business for the sake of taxes. Don’t they already make enough off the people who smoke premade cigarettes? What’s next, taxing us for making them in our home?
