Ok, here's one thing I don't understand about Christians that condemn cigarettes and say that smoking is a "sin". What I don't get is, if God created everything, and if God must have created Tobacco, wouldn't that mean that God created tobacco for us to use for our pleasure? I know alot of Christians say that the Bible says that harming your body is a sin because your body is a gift from the Lord, but was it not God that created it in the first place? He must have had some reason for its use.

I am a Christian and agree with the above statements. I also use a certain green plant which is on the face of this earth for a reason instead of using a man made synthetic DRUG as prescribed by a doctor to relieve pain. It is as if the bible is interpreted differently every 10 years to coincide with political changes or just to make a point sound valid to church members regardless of the situation. You have a very valid point and I am sure if you asked 10 Christian's you would receive 10 different answers dependent upon their pastors view and not personal interpretation. You beat me to posting this but was unaware of the response to religion on this server. GREAT TOPIC! Edit: You don't think their response will be tobacco is the "tree of knowledge" do you? The only thing I have learned from tobacco is...I like it . Last edited by wipeout97; 06-30-2009 at 06:08 PM.

Yes smoking is sin, because smoking is addictive. The Bible say in Ephesians 5:18 "And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit." In other words let the Holy Spirit control your actions and life. Smoking is an addition that takes control of our lives away from us.
