| After trying out Camel Filters Menthol and reading some reviews for Newports I decided to pick up a pack of Newport Mediums. However, they didn't have any at the gas station I picked them up at, the guy just said they had "Newports." On the front of the pack it says "Menthol Box" and on the bottom simply "Box." I'm relatively new to smoking so I'm not sure what this all means. I wanted to write a review on these but I'm not exactly sure what brand they are. There's no "Box" or "Menthol Box" category on the reviews page. So what exactly am I smoking? |

| Hey Frank, As a Newport smoker myself, I hope you liked your experience of smoking Newport Shorts (as smokers in my community calls them). I'll check your review out. I prefer the longer Newports. But I definitely think if you are gonna smoke, always buy cigs in boxes. The cigs will get crushed in soft packs.

| I love it! That's good. Kind of like letting the inmates run the asylum. To me when I hear King Size cigarettes called "shorts" I go ballistic. Regular cigarettes are Camel, Lucky Strike, Chesterfield, and other 70mm ones. King Size are 85mm and of course we have 100mm which are long smokes. I won't even get into those damn 120mm ones that my lady friend smokes (VS Luxury Lights 120s). They look a mile long, LOL! Last edited by barfly; 10-14-2009 at 03:34 AM. |

| I wouldn't mind smoking Newport Kings if a pack of those only costed a buck. Because based on the modern cig prices, I get more drags and more tobacco for my money with 100's. 120's are nice but they're too long for me. I hear 120s actually have the same amount of tobacco as a 100mm cig.
