Sorry if I'm bumping an old thread, but I came across this community and thought I'd share my opinion.
As for Marlboro Skylines, I waited patiently for them to come out last summer, and while I only bought maybe 3 packs since, I picked one up today.
Now I'm not a typical menthol smoker, I can enjoy a Newport or whatever other menthol someone might bum me, but Skylines are different to me.
I noticed a lot of people compare these to Smooths and I think that while it's a decent comparison because they both don't taste like menthol, saying tha they taste like a "Smooth light" doesn't give its flavor true justice.
I don't taste a lot of of peppermint at all, really. Perhaps because they aren't sweet tasting like Smooths. Hell, I usually buy a pack of Smooths once a year and that's around Christmas time, just because they taste so much like peppermint candy.
Skylines have a very unique, minty clean taste. My best description to a friend was that they're like a light blend between menthol/peppermint, but without the menthol aftertaste.
When exhaled you get a very refreshing, smooth mouth feel, but what I love is that it isn't followed by a lingering smoky menthol taste on your tongue.
These are considered "light" because they have perforations on the filter in the same way a Marlboro Light would.
Overall, they're well worth the try if you dig menthols. I personally have become more accustomed to smoking Marlboro 27s or Parliament Full Flavor as my usual choice, but Marlboro Skylines will always be a nice alternative when I feel like it. Hopefully these stick around because I think Marlboro did a great job with this blend. |
