OK- so I'm not sure how it works where you guys live- but I live in Ohio- and today- I think they just jacked up the prices again today. My marlboros that I usually buy for like 5.75 a pack- just jumped up today to like 6.26 a pack. This is a bunch of horseshit- where do we draw the damn line? Sorry about the language- but this is an issue I am very passionate about. You call this America? You call this a "free country"? Bullshit- not with these f'ing prices. Who the hell keeps voting these bastards into office that keep doing this shit to us? Whoever it is- they seriously have too much damn time on their hands for wanting to pick on smokers like this.

With prices like these- I'm smoking whereever the hell I want- I don't care what anyone says to me. If they got an issue- I'll say- "I paid your tax with these cigs- so mind your own business and let me smoke in peace." If a cop comes up to me and starts making threats and shit- I'm just going to blow the smoke right in his face and say "You're not the only one who has rights in America officer".

For awhile- I've just been sucking it up- I've been paying the high prices and dealing with the bullshit smoking bans- but now- I'm done with that. 6.26 for a pack of f'ing marlboros is just ridiculous and it's an abuse of government power. It's time to fight people. Before we know it- cigarettes may just jump up to 8.00-9.00 a pack. Like I said before- where do we draw the damn line here?

I don't think the price was jacked up today here in Chicago. A pack of Newports costs about 6 bucks if you buy a pack from a cig dealer in the streets by me. That's a cheap price to me, believe it or not!

I don't think you wanna hear the price for a pack of Newports or Marlboros around here if you decide to buy a pack of cigs in a store or gas station. Better make sure you got a 10-buck bill on you if you want a pack of Marlboros around here! The actual price is more like 9 bucks for a pack.

The 50 cent price hike makes me think either the store got busted for violating Altria trade agreements (selling stale smokes and not offering an exchange, selling promo bogo packs at normal pricing, or selling more than the carton limit per day to one individual). The 50 cent hike would lay parallel with this as this is pretty well stated in their contact. Most price hikes at retailers are done by 20-35 cents a pack as to raise the price slowly while keeping consumers loyal. I have found that the majority of shops getting busted for this are typically arab owned (nothing against arabs at all....it's just my experience).

Try going to another chain of stores in your area to see if the price is the old price you were used to. If so I think you hit the nail on the head.

Camel man, I do have two 4 dollar of a carton coupons for marlboro. They are yours if you want them? I wish I could smoke them but Marlboro turns my skin green and I have even fainted if I smoke a pack too fast. I guess that's why I am loyal to RJR.

Camel Filters is my preferred brand- however there is only one Marlboro Cigarette that I do like and that's the "marlboro blend no. 27"- those cigs go great with alcohol or whiskey. I usually only smoke those when I'm drinking though. When I'm sober- I'll usually get the camel filters.

Price has been the same around me for a long time now. I get 2 packs and it's $11.15 including tax. Still ridiculous but not as bad as some states.

A pack of Marlboro used to be $4.90 a pack but are now $5.34 per pack. It's ridiculous.

It's $6.16 a pack here and another example of PM hurting it's own loyal customers. Even with the new taxes the price should be much lower.
