Default Hey from Australia

Hi everyone, I live in Sydney, Australia. I smoke Benson & Hedges Smooth almost exclusively though I've tried most of the other popular brands of cigarettes.

Amazing country with a horrible government! I'm sure most of you have heard of the plain packaging they are introducing at the end of the year. I just hope the tobacco companies' lawsuits succeed and this will not go ahead.

In short, plain packaging requires all cigarettes in Australia to be sold in uniform packs that have an ugly olive-brown colour and no logos will be allowed on cigarette packs whatsoever. The brand name will have to be printed in small, standard-font text underneath the health warning that will cover 75% of the front.

A pack of Benson & Hedges 25s cost $16.20 (US$17.35). And I usually get my smokes from a local convenience store as I don't have a tobacconist in my suburb so I pay $18.30 (US$19.50). The extra cost is still cheaper than a train ticket or the petrol to drive to a suburb that has a tobacconist.

Welcome to the board azza!

Really agree with what you posted:

"Amazing country with a horrible government! I'm sure most of you have heard of the plain packaging they are introducing at the end of the year. I just hope the tobacco companies' lawsuits succeed and this will not go ahead."

Let's hope.
