 Cigarette Price Increase in SC Unbelievable, South Carolina is raising the cigarette tax by 50 cents per pack starting July 1st. South Carolina hasn't raised taxes in 33 YEARS and I would always enjoy buying some cheap cartons when I vacationed there. You could get a carton of Marlboro at Walgreens for $28 bucks. It seems that this trend of tax hikes is going to roll out to every state and continue to hurt the pockets of smokers all over the country. When will this insanity stop? Even tobacco states are not immune any longer. It's one hike after another.  |

 The price of a pack of marlboro ff ks box just increased here in florida at walgreens to $5.66 a pack (up 20 cents) and a carton is $52.49. The cheapest cigarettes in the same store is $4.19 a pack for L&M and $4.10 a pack for Pall Mall.  |
