Smokers, this is developing more quickly than expected...

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid initiated the hotline process for the PACT Act this evening just before 6:00 PM. The Senate has now adjourned for the evening and will resume the PACT Act hotline process first thing tomorrow morning.

We need Anybody and Everybody to burn up the phone lines to the US Senate tomorrow morning and object to the passage of this bill. Anything you can do to make this happen will be greatly appreciated. There may be no more tobacco mail order if this bill is passed tomorrow. PLEASE FORWARD THIS REQUEST TO ANYONE YOU THINK CAN HELP US.

if we don't light up the switchboards, these congressmen are going to stick it in the ear of every cigarette smoker they can because they won't get thrown out of office for raising taxes on cigarettes...they never do! Just bug the smokers, no problem....

Any update? I can not find if this passed today or not. While I've pretty much quit smoking this is still an important issue to me. First the cigarettes and then the guns is the way I've always felt about it.

That's interesting. I had no knowledge of this. Where do you get this sort of information? Are you a political smoker? Whatever happened to plain old cigarettes and BIC's? Why is everything so political now?

Why you ask? Because people vote for Democrats my friend. Since Dems have been in office in NC my smokes have raised over 250% in just 4 years time. Democrats have ALWAYS been about taxes, spending, and screwing over the people. Then of course the same people put Obama in office so he can now try to get the whole country to his 13% tax rate he was proud of from IL. Too bad he won the election....his wife was going to do time for fraud. I guess it's just a perk though.......you are president so now the millions your wife stole from medicare doesn't matter anymore. I guess Barry Soetoro wins!

They will sneak it in when nobody is looking because of the uproar there has been about it. The uproar afterwards don't matter. They will have done their duty to the convenience stores that aren't owned by Americans anymore. They will have shot themselves in the foot basically like they do with everything else. It's all about me me me in the US House and Senate. They don't care about cutting you out of a job, an inexpensive smoke or anything else. Politicians are evil and Obama and his Democrats are the worst ones. If you voted Democratic, you deserve whatever they hand down.
