Exclamation Flavored Cigarette and Clove Ban

Well I haven't seen this posted yet so I figured I would break the bad news to some. Flavored cigarettes are soon to be banned by the FDA and apparently another round of RYO/SYO/MYO tobacco makers are going under.

Here is an e-mail from CustomBlends:

Hello All!

As you probably know, the FDA has developed regulations that ban Clove and Flavored tobacco. The suppliers have made the decision to discontinue these flavored tobaccos by Sept 22. Any remaining stock that may appear on our web site will be available on a first come, first serve basis.

Additionally, the suppliers of our CB Select Blends ( such as CB Select Blend #21 ) have decided to get out of the cigarette tobacco business. These remaining CB Select Blends will be available on a first come first serve basis until the supplier stops shipping, or Oct 2, 2009, whichever comes first.

Bear in mind, if you're ordering 10 bags of any discontinued blend, but by the time we see your order, others have been processed, we will fulfill as many bags as possible. Also remember, we don't charge credit cards until we know we can ship product!

Now the good news! Our regular blends, such as Custom Blends Blend 21 (the same blending style as the soon-to-be-discontinued CB Select Blend #21) will still be available.

So if you have a CB Select Blend you order regularly, please look at our Custom Blends Blend in the same number, or feel free to use the "Match Brands to Our Blends!" box on the left side of our shopping page at... We're sure we have a Custom Blends Blend for you!

Thanks!

Pretty sad this step has been taken but when your president pushes for the FDA to "control and regulate tobacco" this is the end result. Another thanks to our all might "Nobama" as I thought a nice RYO peach and camel light style tobacco was nice for a bar scene night. I am under the impression that on top of cloves and flavored cigarettes that bidis are on their way out the door too.

I notice that Bracko hasn't put a ban on flavored cigars that certain people love so much like Peach and Grape Optimos (which the idiot customers call "Octimos" at my store) and Cigarillos (the same idiots call these "rillos"). When will it ever end?

In my opinion the only way this will end is when Americans are tired of being unfairly ruled and oust the corrupt officials in office. It is just another game of lets ban this and hope the "tobacco slum" are forced to try our pharmaceutical quit smoking pills. Would love to see the investment portfolios of FDA officials.....how much you wanna bet our President is not the only one invested in "Pfizer"? Just saw another quit smoking ad today which used to be run via Altria/PM but was shocked when "Pfizer" was the sole ad sponsor.

The weird thing about this flavor ban is that kids never really smoked cloves. Hell, I didn't even know about them until I was old enough to buy them. Even though I am glad that menthols weren't banned, menthols are actually what the kids are smoking. Statistically, menthols are THE most popular cigarette in today's youth. If the government wanted to realistically make a blow to young people smoking, then menthols should have gone. The elimination of kreteks is a prime example of how the government really has no idea what it's doing with cigarettes. It was just a random blow to smokers covered up with a lie. It makes me mad just talking about it.
