Default North Carolina Cigarettes (most non-fsc) going up by $10 ($12 total) in new taxes

Well it's sad but it looks like smokes coming out of NC are going up by another $10 in taxes to pay for more democratic government waste. I believe this $10 in taxes will go to illegal alien health care and education (regardless of what the damn governor says). I mean hell....look at Obama's tax increase and no more 5% of it has gone to schip. Why weren't people smart enough with Obama to see he entered the whitehouse fully invested in health care (perfectly legal of course) and he has made more in the short months he has been in office of his investments than any other president in HISTORY! Again perfectly legal by our screwed up standards. Remember, he can not touch his portfolio while in office but he can control how the industry does while in office.

Ok so now we were hiked by over $7 from the obama tax as manufacturers raised prices too. Now the governor of NC wants to raise taxes again by $10 which would lead to another raise of $12 per carton to smoke non-fsc (thank God I live in NC!). Wow.....that is almost $60 a carton for premiums at most gas stations.

My question to everyone because I am seeing more of this? Who is the real terrorist right now? I am seeing illegal and bootleg cigarettes flood flea markets and rougher areas of town. If I buy these cigarettes for $20 a carton I am told I am supporting terrorist. If I buy legal cigarettes at the soon to be price of near $60 a carton I REALLY feel like I am supporting terrorist. Is it wrong to buy cigarettes at deep discounts just because I refuse to support this screwed up country?

Before you ask, I have served in the military for 8 years and love what this country stood for. Just not anymore. I have attempted now to migrate out of the country twice (once to Canada and once to Mexico) but was turned down because I have an associates degree and not a masters. You can't flame me for the comment above by saying "just leave!" since I can't legally.

Anyone else think drugs might be cheaper than smokes?

Obama is crazy for a second reason. As of today, he signed tobacco regulation from the FDA into law. So now the amount of nicotine in USA cigs will decrease, making people buy more cigs as a result of them smoking more cigs.

*************************************
WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama is set to sign into law an anti-smoking bill that will give the Food and Drug Administration unprecedented authority to regulate tobacco.

Obama is scheduled to sign the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act during an event Monday in the Rose Garden. The law allows the FDA to reduce nicotine in tobacco products, ban candy flavorings and block labels such "low tar" and "light." Tobacco companies also will be required to cover their cartons with large graphic warnings.

The law won't let the FDA ban nicotine or tobacco outright, but the agency will be able to regulate what goes into tobacco products, make public the ingredients and prohibit marketing campaigns, especially those geared toward children.

Anti-smoking advocates looked forward to the bill after years of attempts to control an industry so fundamental to the U.S. that carved tobacco leaves adorn some parts of the Capitol.

Opponents from tobacco-growing states like top-producing North Carolina argued that the FDA has proved through a series of food safety failures that it's not up to the job. They also said that instead of unrealistically trying to get smokers to quit or to prevent others from starting, lawmakers should ensure that people have other options, like smokeless tobacco.

As president, George W. Bush opposed the legislation and threatened a veto after it passed the House last year. The Obama administration, by contrast, issued a statement declaring strong support for the measure.

Obama has spoken publicly of his own struggles to quit cigarettes.

At least the guy finally admitted yesterday that, "yes he still smokes" and "yes I broke a promise to Michelle" when he promised her he would never smoke again if he ran for president.

Even more sick was when they were arguing the fact most people thing he appears "perfect" and how American's want someone who is strong but still shows being human with flaws. Is the smoking thing his was of re-connecting with the U.S. population? Remember people, he does not buy his cigarettes....YOU DO. It is a consumable good therefor we buy his premium brand for him to smoke. He smokes in a federal building where by law makes this ILLEGAL! Can you do the same thing?
