Default How many are thinking of quitting because of the price??

I'm curious, are others our there like me getting sick of spending all this money on premium cigarettes like Marlboro or Camel, I just paid $57 bucks a carton today, this is insane...I'm not thinking of quitting, but i do want a cheaper, discount cigarette, can anyone recommend me a really, good smoking discount cigarette? Help appreciated!

If you mean a discount brand you can find offline, good luck. I know in my town, a pack of "discount cigs" is just about as high as a pack of premiums. A carton of premiums around me is 90-100 bucks. A generic/discount brand is "only" 8 bucks/pack. It's hard to actually find a discounted pack offline by me. You can only get premiums.

Online is the best route to getting REAL discount brands.

Bobby, here is a little secret. If you walk into to most local tobacco shops and tell them you want to find a decent discount brand cigarette they will typically offer you samples of their house brands. This to me would be the best way to try before you buy. I have been offered free cigs at EVERY smoke shop I have ever been to just by asking what they think of their cheaper brands. I think they can do this simply because the markup is very decent on value brands.

With a Topomatic machine, I'm getting just over 2 cartons out of a lb of tobbacco. It works out to $25 a carton.

Yeah, I know, shame on Obama for doing this, after he promised he wouldn't. I've had to switch to "cheap" brands like Basic, Pall Mall, Maverick, and all of those discount brands because the brands that I used to like such as Camel, Marlboro, Newport, and Kool are all so damn expensive now- that I just don't need to waste my time with those.

Default Quiting Smoking for Higher Cigarette Prices

I have seriously considered cutting back and would probably do so if I lived in NY, CA or another very high cigarette cost state. I live in Virginia and the price of a carton went up 7-8 bucks so it's not hurting me too much yet. If things get worse, which they will inevitably will, I will probably switch to a 2nd or 3rd tier brand.

Bobby, I had a regular Bronco cigarette today and since I used to smoke camel it really reminded me a lot of it. It's a columbia blend but I think the columbia leaf must share some trait with the turkish leaf. At only $2.49 a pack around here I am sure you can find one close to you. Consider this though....The brand Bronco is not the #1 selling brand in Miami Florida stomping Phil Mor and RJR into the ground....

Try Gold Coast or Liggett Select. In my state, they are both sold at Walgreens for under $3.

I just have to keep smoke at the rate I am or less, namely 2-3 cigarettes a day. It's not much, but I'm at college and don't have a job. I'm running out of cash and it'll be a little while before I go back home for winter break and cash won't be so much of an issue. If money issues continued I guess I'd switch to Pall Malls or something, they're cheap and have a good burn time.
