| People, wake up! Fire Safe Cigarettes are more of a danger to you than you think. See below - I have copied a few posts from another site that may educate us: KT wrote: The new formula not only tastes funny, but it leaves my mouth and throat all nasty feeling (cotton mouth immediately after smoking). This is one quick way to make a non-smoker out of me, as I feel like I am having an allergic reaction everytime I like up. Also they are giving me a headache. Who do we complain too about this??? David T wrote: In Pennsylvania, the Government passed HB 1612 Cigarette Fire Safety and Firefighter Protection Act to take full effect January 1, 2009, only a month away. This bill passed unanomously! I am sure the congress thought the FSC were "safe" but they are not!!!! It may (although debatable) stop fires that kill 1000 US citizens a year, but consider the amount of smokers killed and health care cost going through the roof. I have already contact the Governor of PA, my State Senator and Rep on this. I will also be contacting the media. Everyone, I encourage you to all do the same! Do not cave into this terrible law! BK wrote: These are disgusting...i smoke Reds and although they have been known as "The Worst" they are even worse now. when you have to puff to get them to relight, the taste is horrible. at first i thought it was one bad pack, then another and another...they started in PA...wondering why? David T wrote: BK, Since you live in PA like I do, the rule is that ALL tobacco companies must comply with FSC by January 1, 2009, per the bill signed into law by Governor Rendell. I read the HB 1612 and it does state that retailers/distributors have until July 1, 2009 and are allowed to sell "regular" cigarettes that were tax stamped before the law goes into affect. I am not familar if Winston can be found as a regular cigarette still, you can check. The way to tell is that the law requires that the label FSC appear near the UPC on the pack. If you see FSC, it is the fire safe ones. Locally where I live, Marlboro Lights and Newport boxes are all FSC already. I did find a pack of Newport Lights soft pack regular cigarettes. They burn clean, nice orange glow, don't go out, don't taste funny. The grim fact is for States that have passed such laws, when the time ticks away and if nothing is done to overturn, you will only find FSC cigarettes and the health hazards they represent. The Pennsylvania law mentions performance to prevent a full burn several times, but not once is the health of the smoker mentioned, not a single word. Steve R wrote: David, BK, everybody, I think with Winstons, Camels, Kools and all the brands made by R.J. Reynolds, the "FSC" mark is in small print on the bottom of the pack; not next to the UPC code - as it is on Marlboro and Newport. Anyway, the Coaliton For Fire Safe Cigarettes - who started this, must be aware of what they've done to so many millions of people, unless they've never read the responses to their own Coalition For Fire Safe Cigarette 'blog'. Google it. It is shocking. I hope the politicians who were duped(?) into implementing this into law are encouraged to read it too. I also hope that James M. Shannon, the head of this "Coalition" and all involved with this Coalition For Fire Safe Cigarettes are ultimately tried for crimes against humanity. In the meantime, how very, very vast of a FORTUNE is so easily right there to be made by the few states that wisely DIDN'T implement this nonsense into law. And, what with the economy being what it is, GOOD FOR THEM. |

| Based on the negativity i read from smokers on FSCs, I believe politicians ARE out to make premade smokers die at a faster rate. I signed that petition myself. A lotta smokers on that petition said they developed breathing problems once they started smoking FSCs. One smoker even said she had to start taking antiboditics and steroids once she started smoking FSCs. A lotta smokers online call FSCs cigs with more poison. And I believe them. Those FSCs neva had real tobacco in em anyway. Unless you like smoking tobacco stems combined with chemicals and ingredients that are proven to be dangerous when comsumed into your body. |
