| OP where do you live? I've heard of this only being true in some states in North America. Don't quote me on this. I don't smoke marlboro, but I have seen this complaint on other forums in the past, but friends of mine who smoke reds don't seem to complain. |

| Hi All, These new fire safe cigarettes were first introduced in the State of New York around 3-4 years ago, and they supposedly worked in decreasing the number of house fires started because of cigarettes left burning. However they do change the way the cigarettes taste, as well as the smoking pleasure you get from them. The best solution for this that I found was to buy your cigarettes from a domestic online store, however they have now started cramping down on 80% of the States where these online store operate. I know that any New York based store will not send you normal smokes anymore, cause you can't get them in New York State anymore. Also, recently the Local government of 4 of the major online supplier states have started putting these cigarettes into place, so soon enough your only option for non fire safe smokes will be international online stores to the states. I am already ordering mine from Overseas, as they are cheaper, and although the taste is a little different, at least they don't burn out if you don't draw on them for some time. It is disappointing that this has come about, and it is also unfortunate that European countries may follow suite, meaning that you won't be able to get normal smokes within the next few years. | I've heard many marlboro smokers say this if the best brand of all. It's not true though. Marlboro's are really the worst tasting smoke I've ever had. They are just the number one rip-off the world product that Philip Morris has in their arsenal of rip-off the world products. |

| Oh FSCs are coming in Indiana sometime in July of '09 I think. FSCs are in several states already. IL, Iowa, MN, Ohio, PA, CA, Maine, NJ, Texas.... I bet by the end of 2009, all of the Big Tobacco companies are making all of their brands FSCs. So it won't matter if your state has a FSC law by then....because the companies make their brands fire-safe anyway. Pretty soon, smoking Native brands or rolling/making your own cigs will be the only way you can get non-FSCs. Buying overseas aint an option for me. |

| I live in CA and noticed my Marbs had the FSC written above the upc. I've only had them go out once, and that was after not inhaling for a few minutes while talking to a friend. As for taste, I don't notice any difference, but then again I've only been smoking Marbs for as long as they've been fire safe. I remember a few months ago when Pall Malls first went firesafe that some people I know complained about them. Is FSC written on the pack of all the cigarettes that are firesafe? Or do only certain brands take the liberty to inform you? I feel like igniting a couple from different brands and seeing how long they take to go out. Last edited by Rodwy; 12-25-2008 at 05:29 PM. |
