| Like another poster, I have seen these brands disappear: Viceroy Old Gold Chesterfield Commander (Philip Morris) I smoke Lucky Strikes and buy them at a local store that still has the brand on the cig rack where you can see them. Most stores in our area do not carry them anymore. |

| This was a little before everyones time but I think Raleigh by cigarettes aren't around anymore they were based off of Sir Walter Raleigh pipe tobacco which is still sold. I've seen old gold, trayerton, vantage, and true around but they cost a dollar more than everything else I think mostly older people smoke them. I've always been interested in why cigarette brands are popular and then disappear, for example camel used to have a low market share like around 5 percent of the market and then there was the Joe camel thing, and also how brands like LS got so unpopular while brands like parliament which I've never seen an advertisement for are popular. | Bucks was a brand I liked but it disappeared.Lucky Strike filters are gone from the US as are Chesterfield filters.Dont see Magna either.Id like to see Chesterfield filters and Lucky Strike Filters return but I doubt we will see it and PM and Reynolds own the brands now.May be unwanted competition for thier Marlboro and Camel core brands.Dan |
