Default Liquid Smoking drink Creates a Cigarette Sensation

I just found this article right here, you guys should check this out. Apparently, they are trying to come up with a "Smoking Drink" that gives you like the same effect as a cigarette. They say the reason their making this is because of all of these smoking bans that are going on, so I guess youre supposed to drink this drink whenever you're in a place where there is no smoking allowed.

I just read it too... we dont allow links posted but here's the aricle:

Smokers left craving nicotine in pubs and restaurants were today promised relief in the form of a soft drink claimed to recreate the sensation of smoking a cigarette.

Liquid Smoking - which manufacturers hope will go on sale in the UK in December - contains no nicotine but relies instead on a South African herbal extract said to enable people to "drink the smoking feeling".

The drink has a "slight energising effect, followed by a euphoric sense of calming and relaxation, like the satisfaction of your cigarette," its manufacturer, the United Drinks and Beauty Corporation, claims.

Coming in a can reminiscent of a cigarette packet, it has a box proclaiming "no warning needed" where a health warning would be on a packet of cigarettes.

A 250ml can contains 20 calories and will cost about £1.50 in the shops and a little more in bars.

"It tastes like a fruity herbal drink," Martin Hartman of the manufacturer said.

The company is hoping its product, which is not yet on sale anywhere, will be a hit among those still struggling with cravings in the aftermath of the ban on smoking in enclosed public places and workplaces introduced in Britain 16 months ago.

"It's for smokers on trains, public places, planes – anywhere where smoking is prohibited and people want to fulfill the need of nicotine," Hartman said.

Unbelievable what the Brits will think of next! Q? I can see this for a small few, but I think most of us enjoy the act of smoking too. Jesus, how long do you have to sit in a bar to actually need a nicotine shot? what?

Default Amusing Visionaires or too much "Liquid Smoking"?

When I first read this, it just didn't make any sense at all.

If I have to "drink a smoke" while I'm out, I'll find a bar for a cocktail before stopping by a shop to spend £1.50 on sum ~8oz beverage claiming to satisfy a single cigarette 'nicotine craving', that's nicotine-free attractively packaged to reminiscent a cigarette packet (in case I forgot it's purpose?? because it's shaped like a juicebox??) ... oh, the best part, proclaiming NO WARNING NEEDED on the box.

I can't decide which is funnier. That it seems they think smokers are stupid enough to spend more money on a single fix (vs a full 20-ct full pack for however much it costs), and not question how drinking something can feel just like smoking, but who cares, the way they describe it sounds like 'herbal ecstacy'! YEA, you know, those single serving size vitamins you sometimes see at smoke shops, sharing the same shelve space as misc. products like salvia (miley cyrus) and head cleaners. Or how about the eye-catching packaging "No Warning Needed". You know, just in case people around you accidentally mistaken you for smoking because you're drinking out of a cigarette box.

The whole thing is just funny and illogical, maybe if tried this drink right now, then could I possibly see their vision. lol

**Note**
Did a quick search and came across another write-up similar content titled,

Pour yourself a cigarette: The new 'Liquid Smoking' drink that promises an instant high for smokers trying to beat the ban

Now this approach totally puts a different spin on things, well played. I think they got the buyers at "instant high", lol.

I'm curios to see how this product rolls out, and if so, how the US will respond to it with our government involved. One thing's for sure, they will have to come up with a different angle to bypass all the regulations and restrictions the US might shut it down with. Think "Jolt".

I think I'll probably just chew some nicotine gum, less than 20 calories. Or try to start some crazy trend like making nicotine patches with option to custom design with something like.. "No Warning Needed" as wearable art. LOL.

I wonder if this company encourages its own employees to consume this beverage @ the work place. They seem quite optimistic, to take such a risk on attempting to capitalize on forecasted smoke ban situation with something not much different than "5 Hour Energy".
