Default Choice or addiction

Do you guys view smoking as a choice or addiction? I view it as both, personally.

I view it as both. There are times I wish I'd never started, but I think what keeps me from quitting is just the thought of never ever having another cigarette. Also there are times I really enjoy it. Just standing out on the porch in the evening, looking at the stars, having a quiet smoke is just relaxing to me.

More choice than habit. The feeling of sitting on a beach and watching a sunrise while having a cigarette is something I really love, also morning black coffee with a couple of cigarettes before the beginning of the day.

I agree, both a choice and addiction. I've tried quitting several times w/ Chantix and I keep going back. Smoking relaxes me and even when I was taking Chantix and not smoking, I had switched to cigars so at least I had something to do

To me, it is a choice.

A habit can be broken easily.
Don't believe the propaganda.

Also, nicotine is not as addictive as heroin.
Again, don't fall for the propaganda.

I hope your joking because if not ... This is clearly the dumbest most ignorant statement I have ever seen in my life.

I have been on every hard drug you can think of , spent 80 grand to go to rehab at Sierra Tucson and I know for a FACT that

CIGARETTES ARE DEFINETLY THE MOST ADDICTIVE SUBSTANCE ON EARTH.

I spend 90 dollars a week on Lucky Strikes ... You think I'm proud of that? It's a FACT that most smokers will DIE from something related to the "habit"

You are clearly a moron in denial. If I could stop this second and be content I WOULD.

Propaganda ? What kind of person would use a substance daily for 30 years knowing they will most likely DIE from it?

I post this for non smokers who read idiotic statements like yours , and go pick up a pack...

You should be ashamed of yourself , picking up my first Lucky was the WORST decision I have ever made in my life. Worse then cocaine extacy oxycontin pot and HEROIN.

I stopped all of those after many years but can't stop smoking.

Shame on you...

*now smoking a lucky after the rage I have right now*

It is an addiction to me.I would have quit the day the FSC rolled out if I could.I have quit before but most people say I am unbearable to be around. Now I am stuck smoking premium non filtered cigarettes because I cant stand the filtered varieties since the FSC.I think its a choice to start but once they hook you they hook you.I know its possible to quit,my grandfather smoked for 60 years and quit.My father smoked for 20 odd years and quit. Some people can smoke and not get addicted.Im one who is hooked, gotta have my Lucky and coffee.I will smoke until I decide its time to quit or go to my grave with a pack of Luckies or Camels in my pocket.Dan

I think of it as a choice. I used to be severly alergic but it has faded. Now the nicoteine acts as a valuable pain killer for a good cost. I have chronic pain in my foot and no.medical insurance to afford pain killers

Not a good ide a to use a pain KILLER that will most likely KILL you...

And LOL to all the pack a day smokers who think cigarettes are choice. What moron would choose to use a product that will kill you.

Can't wait to see the look on all your faces wen a doctor tells you you have "4" months to live because of your "choice"

At least the tobacco company's marketing is working for morons like you "choicers"

I hope one day I can quit smoking because I AM AWARE IT WILL KILL ME.

Joining a countryclub = choice
Using a pack of day of cigarettes a day = addiction.

Im addicted and have self awareess...
