| It would really be great, if I could just find factory-packaged cigarettes that taste somewhat like Amber Leaf RYO's. I've tried a lot of the USA-available brands already, and non of them are what I like. Drum, is too strong...Top is just blah, etc. etc. Any suggestions? We had a guest here from the UK, who got me started with Amber Leaf - And it is simply the most delicious cigarette I ever had! But, I've only got enough for a few more cigarettes - What can I do? Seriously! In the meantime, I thought that I might research & test a few ready-made boxed brands (packs) that are close to it. ...For when I run out! I must find a rolling tobacco or ready-made brand that tastes (at least something like) Amber Leaf! - Here in the USA! Any help would be greatly appreciated! Oh, I also tried Criss Cross brands and American Harvest - The only American Spirit I could find locally, was the Original Blend: Too strong for me. Sometimes, I wish I never tried Amber Leaf, 'cause now all my usual brands taste like crap to me... Thanks, Al Last edited by Burke; 09-10-2011 at 03:47 AM. | I've never tried Amber Leaf in RYO but I have tried all of the brands you listed that you've tried. My suggestion would be to try some of the Peter Stokkebye brands. My favorite is their Turkish Export blend. I enjoy the Norwegian and Danish blends to. I prefer to get it in the fine cigarette cut which I buy from Little Browns smoke Shop online. Its a little spendier buying it like that but I've also bought the same blends as a pipe tobacco from Rollyourown.com, (NationalCigarStore Waterloo IA) Its very close to the cigarette type but is a little more moist and I feel it works better to stuff it by letting it dry out a little. I also like the flavor a little better after it drys a little. Its also a little coarser cut in the pipe tobacco cut but finer than most pipe tobaccos. I've tried their Amsterdam blend too and I didn't care for it. It was smokeable but just didn't appeal to me. Last edited by Chief Smoker; 09-11-2011 at 02:09 PM. |

| Thank you so much, guys - Now, I've got something to go on... The girl is back from the UK again. I just got back from visiting with her, and she didn't have any $$ to buy Amber Leaf (for either one of us) this time around I left her with 5 of my American Spirit "Ultra light" (Orange box) and told her I would work on finding us a substitute smokeThanks again, Burke |

| I'm also looking at the selection here - http://lilbrown.com/entity/tabid/95/entityname/category/categoryid/25/sename/rolling-tobacco/default.aspx?pgsize=1000000000&pagenum=1 Here is the "transcript" of a recent chat with DutyFreedepot... -------------------------------------------------------------------- I have see & read, that (back in 2006 ~ 2008) many people claimed that your company was fraudulent. That, they placed orders and never received any product. What's the deal with that? Are you under new Management now? Can you honestly tell me, that I can safely place an order with you - And NOT have a problem?? Blair 12:33:10 PM yes i can safely say that, were not under new management, we just ad a few problems a while back, mostley due to customs and the postal company we still have problems with USPS Al 12:33:34 PM Oh. You carry a lot of the brands I'm looking for, but I'm a bit reluctant to place an order. Could you be honest with me? Please? Blair 12:33:46 PM but in the case of you not receieving your order we either re-ship or issue a refund Honestly, This is one of the few companys i know that really re-ship your items as many times as needed until you recieve it, we've had orders that the problem was the customer itself and not us, and we still re-shiped or refunded them I havnt been working here long ( and i started working because my brother is one of the managers) and he's one of the people the give re-funds or re-ships the items, this is really a very safe company, and the people who complain are mostley not very patient, we are only humans and we try to help and work out any problem as fast as possible ------------------------------------------------------------------ And, so I'm on Lil'Browns...trying to pick some tobacco that would be close to Amber Leaf. Something sort of sweet & light. Looking at the selection, from the link above, can anyone recommend one or two? Besides the previous recommendations, which I am grateful for! Thanks! -Al |

Try the Peter Stokkebye Danish blend, It seems sweet and light to me. Buy a small bag and give it a try. Also I've ordered form Dutyfreedepot.com before. I've ordered from them about 8 times and only once did my order take longer than 14 days to get to me. But that order did take close to 2 months before I recieved the last package from it. That was during the time of the Iceland Volcano that stopped air travel in Europe and across the Atlantic too. That may have been what postponed it, I dunno. |
