| Hi everyone, my name's Andrew.. Before I get the inevitable concerns for my health that tell me not to start smoking in the first place, due to stress that has built up in my life, I have made up my mind that smoking could help me cope with some of it so I have already made up my mind. I do genuinely thank you for your concern though. Now, first of all can anyone give me an idea what to expect the first time a take a puff of a cigarette? Another thing I'm concerned about (I admit this is stupid)... I am worried about how to tell the clerk/cashier what type of cigarettes I want. Do I say, for example, I want a pack of Marlboro Lights? Or are they just simply called golds?? I just don't want to look like an imbecile I suppose you could say. And I already have a couple of cigarettes a friend gave me to try, but I don't know if they are a good one for starting... They are Marlboro Menthols I believe. Thanks for taking the time to read this wall of text, and I do appreciate your help! |

| I don't know how much use this'll be, as I'm only two cigarettes further down the road than you. I tried a couple out of curiousity years ago and now I'm seriously considering starting full time. Dumb idea I know. Anyway, when I first took a drag, I was a little worried I'd start coughing or throw up like all the cliches tell you, but it was actually okay. I took to smoking immediately. Disturbing huh. It's so simple, you can only go wrong if you panic. You'll get a little light-headed, you'll have a funny taste in your mouth, but a strange sense of enjoyment. And if you're predisposed to cigarettes like I am, you'll have an addiction in the making. Just try those ones your friend gave you. If the brand sucks, you can always try another. Take what you've got, light up and see if it's for you. That's the only way. Let me know how it goes. |
