Hello,

I don't smoke and know very little to nothing about it, other than how it works. However I do have a lot of friends that smoke, and am an upstart musician in the greater Seattle area, though I travel often to Oregon California and all over Washington.

I heard from a friend that a great way to meet fellow musicians or people on the industry, or just people in general, is to carry a pack of a popular brand on you and then when someone at a Bar or Coffee House steps out or if your busking to offer a cigarette to them if they are out as a way of initiating conversation.

Using this method and not actually smoking the cigarettes I wouldn't go through many packs (which is very good seeing as I am the classic example of the struggling musician living in a studio apartment and living off riceroni and ramen) and I here that the social benefits could be worth it.
