Hey, does anyone own tobacco stocks? It seems like with people so nervous about the economy, they are bound to be smoking more...these stocks should do well, no?

i own shares of Vector Group, it pays out a handsome dividend and has been doing so for 5 years, so im pretty happy withi it and i'm thinking baout buying Phillip Morris given they almost have a monopoly on cigarettes with phillip morris brands they own

Anybody else on this board own cigarette stocks? Phillip Morris is giving a nice dividend and so is Vector Group...and their stocks have held up well. maybe smoking doesn't cost you money, but actually saves you money! Nah....

I bet tobacco stocks are taking off right now. Economy down, people losing jobs, stress... people are smoking and drinking more!
