Lightbulb The Truth Behind FSC Cigarette Laws

FSC or fire safe cigarette laws were passed state by state using deception and misinformation. For the truth, see:

FSC cigarettes increase health risks for smokers, and cause more fires. Please help spread the word so we can get these dangerous laws repealed.

The idea of smoking carpet glue forced me to buy European made cigarettes online from tobaccoteds as they don't sell fire safe cigarettes.

Carpet glue? Ah, but it is sooo much safer than that nasty old tobacco! (sarcasm)

They are taxing me to death and putting glue in my smokes. How nice of them, the rats.

Default Why were the FSC laws passed?

When I first learned about FSC cigarettes I researched what made them FSC and why they were being mandated. I found the active ingredient was sodium silicate. I accessed the Materiel Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for this chemical and it warns about ingesting or inhaling this substance! I found FSC was mandated with the hope of reducing over 800 annual smoking related deaths by fire in the U.S.. Although any accidental death is tragic I thought this to be a rather insignificant amount in a country of over 300,000,000. I eventually found statistics from the National Fire Protection Association (NFPS) that appeared to confirm this number (827). I then noticed that the statistic was for a five year period. Is it really worth further risking the health of millions of smokers to possibly reduce 165 deaths per year. It seems to be another big government solution desperately in search of a problem.

If people die from the adverse side effects of FSC, those who pushed the agenda should be tried for murder.
