I know the Blackhawk brand itself is non-FSC. Yeah, I used to smoke Senecas for a lil while earlier this year. But when I heard Senecas will become FSC (and they did become FSCs) this September, I decided to smoke the Kick cigarette brand. Kick is another non-FSC brand.

You might have to google for "Kick Cigarettes." Not every smoke shop online sells them.

Speaking of buying cigs online, it's good to know I can still buy them online. There must be a delay in the Senate vote on the PACT Act.

I found non-FSC cigarettes at my local liquor store here in Los Angeles! I desperately searched all their European cigarettes and all the 555 and Dunhill were FSC - or so I thought. Their Dunhill Superior Mild is not FSC! I bought a pack and made sure by smoking it and the cigarette never burned out and I even let half of one burn all the way through to make sure. I'm going to buy the rest of what they have in stock because these are illegal in California now!

Those Kick brand cigarettes are really good. I've had a few cartons of them this year. However, I'm rolling my own now and not buying any cartons of cigs no more.

The PACT Act is currently stalled in the Senate Judiciary Committee (the same committee that examined the new hispanic female judge). It has died in committee twice before in this decade. I hope it dies again.

Thumbs down Marlboro Medium 100s

I've been a Marlboro Medium 100s smoker for YEARS. When I started smoking 17 years ago there was no such thing as “Mediums” so I'd buy a pack of Reds and a pack of Lights and alternate. Then, my friends at Marlboro heard my plight and came out with the Mediums.

Fast forward 17 years and our charming Government decided to make all cigarettes FSC and have ruined the relationship I had grown to love (and yes, hate) w/my Mediums. Now I CANNOT stand them! I won't buy them and actually gave more than half of my last carton to my Mom. I hunted high and low in my area for non-FSC but effective February 1st all cigarettes had to be FSC. I tried to get past the taste but I just can't do it. My best friend even gave me non-FSC and FSC just to see if it was mental. Nope, I could tell the difference every time. (We went on a road trip. When I was driving and wanted a cig she would hand me one or the other to smoke just to test the theory.)

That led me to this site. I'm now on the hunt for a new cig. I know all cigs are FSC but not all FSC cigarettes are created equal. I don't mind Maverick Full Flavor 100 and Basic Full Flavor 100 are ok too, but I don't LOVE them and don't really want a Full Flavor tobacco product. I'm open to suggestions on brands comparable to Marlboro Medium 100s. They have to be 100's and I have to be able to buy them at my local WaWa or similar place. Otherwise, I'm open to any and all ideas.

I did a search for states where the law is not effective yet. I found this site:

HTML Code:
http://www.nfpa.org/gallery/FSC_2map2.htm
I’m going to see about buying them online via one of the 7 states that it is not effective as of yet. The only state that has not been made into law *YET* is Wyoming but it’s been introduced into their House so that is short lived. However, I’ve read other places that Marlboro as a company has changed all their cigs to FSC so I’m not sure I’ll find them even in those states. Due to that, I’ll keep trying new types.

Thanks!!
Randa

It's all such a damn shame. We're all feeling the pain of these. I've been smoking mediums lately too and I can tolerate them. It might just be because I'm so tired of Camels. >_<

Cigarette manufacturers only make FSC now for the US since most all states have this stupid communist law. God I hate our government! Anyway, I smoked Marlboro King Size Soft Pack for a long time (full flavor) but the FSC are just terrible so I switched to Winston and they are easier to smoke. They still suck but not as bad as Marlboro does now.

I don't know how strong they would be compared to the medium's though. I got lucky and found a carton of Marlboro 100's full flavor still in non-FSC and bought them. I don't like 100's but they were non-FSC and they smoke so much easier.

I just don't like the RYO since I can't seem to find one that tastes right to me. I'm so sick of this s**t. In the last 10 years I have seen cigarettes go from $2 a pack to almost $7 and they taste like s**t. God what a wonderful job our communist government does to take care of us.
